In One Door and Out the Other

I've just posted my first video Segment for the new IODOTO collaborative video project. This video is what I'm calling a "Segment". Once the project's collected several Segments, collaborators will be able to mix and match those individual chunks of videos, compiling them into longer movies. Each Segment starts and ends with someone going through a doorway, so the videos should be easy to cut together.

We'll see what happens.

In this particular Segment you see me, yes me, walking out of my office, down the hall, adjusting a wall-hanging and exiting the house.

I know that guy. He's a fine, upstanding citizen.

What effect was that?
The glow/outline/sepia/dust/old movie look.
Was it an effect?

The effect is a combination of desaturation of a way-too-yellow source file and subsequent unsharpmasking.

I like the way it resembles those very early video recordings that you see sometimes on "I Love Lucy" reruns.

Using Final Cut pro?

Yes. Under "video filters". Unsharp mask is one of my favorite Photoshop filters too.

By the way, thank you for turning me on to Crystal's videoblog. She's hilarious! http://midnighttherapy.typepad.com/

like a video round robin. that's cool.

MTWC: Round robin might be a misnomer, though... because that implies we have to take turns. We don't. We can all work on our videos simultaneously. Hope you can join us!

Cool house! I guess it's your old one??
The unsharp mask/halo effect is really cool indeed. I have to keep my promise and make a segment now that the project officially started!!

cI love this concept and did an audiowork of in one door HERE. It's pretty subtle - the footsteps and the sound - but wanted to share it with you. That's Joel and me checking out our Amsterdam street at night.

Can't wait to see how all the footage comes together from the group.

It sounds like a cool project. I'm going to check the website out and I'll be on the look out to see what you guys come up with.

Oh, I got here by Steve's Vlog Soup.
