There's something fun about novel food-delivery systems. Sushi joints tend to have the best, in the form of boats, trains and, in this case, a conveyor belt. R-type, Lonveig and I had lunch at Sushiland. Little did I know, my camera was on the whole time. Enjoy the video.Other videos about sushi:

the muted soundtrack adds to the sense of surreal detachment: a few dish clinks, some faraway conversation, and underneath it some kind of repetitive vibe.
A sushi conveyor belt seems so...odd.
yeah. a sushi train is very.... Caractacus Potts.
What a reference! I had no idea who "Caractacus Potts" was, so I checked out his entry on Wikipedia. Basically, an inventor of silly things.
The "self delivering" sushi does seem like a silly gimmick, but in practice it's actually a cool experience. Caters to the whims of customers and frees up wait staff for specific requests.
Now if only we could get a good automat in Portland.
Last time I ate at Sushiland the couple upstream from me kept taking all the vegetarian items. I felt so helpless.

Greg - order directly from the chef. Its really the only way to eat at sushiland unless you take a fresh plate right as its set down.
